Subject:
Naturalized Citizen, That is
A silent film in sepia tone from 1922 tells a story of an immigrant who bought a farm with money he saved - cash transaction I suppose, and now his brother visits from the old country and they find him a home with the idea that in the US one gets out of his land what he puts into it. Maybe these people fled Russia. Ironically, today people of this ilk would be fleeing the US instead of coming here.
Some scenes of autos and implements of the day with a segment that addresses the improvement of roads and that only naturalized citizens could vote on bond issues. A well made film and well preserved for its vintage. Of more than passing interest, I'd say.
